Permalinks on Facebook are Very Important to Use
Why Use Permalinks?
Do you know that permalinks are your social media friends?
Have you ever seen a cute image posted somewhere on the web with a link to a timeline on Facebook and clicked it to see more information about the image only to discover, when you get there, that someone has posted a link to the whole wall and not to the image itself?
I have and, believe me, it gets frustrating having to scroll through hundreds of photos to find the image I want. There is an answer to this problem. Simply use a permalink.
What are permalinks? Basically it is a permanent link to the individual post or picture. If you use it a permalink, it does directly to the original posting and saves your visitors a lot of time which makes it easier for them to share or like or comment on your item.
Here is how to do a permalink in Facebook:
Find the picture you would like to make a permalink to. Just above the photo or status update is the time (or time and date) you posted the image. Click on the time of the image as shown by the red rectangle in this photo:
When you click on the time, it will take you to a new page. On this page will only be the image that you wish to share. Now, you click the URL at the top of the page as shown in this image:
Once you have copied this URL, you have your permalink. In my case the link is this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=480970965276850&set=a.455352561172024.103607.190522717655011&type=1.
Now you can share your permalink and when someone clicks on it, it will take them directly to the page with the image.
